A rainy paddle, so kayaking on Edith Lake became the plan. No wind, cool weather, and only one other boat on the lake. Some ducks and blackbirds, but all quiet otherwise. My 70th day of kayaking in 2026.

Edith Lake, Above the Smoke
It was smoky in the valley, but a I climbed to Edith Lake, there was some haze, but the sky above was bluish and sunny. I paddled around the lake in fairly good conditions.
Roche Lake West
A kayak outing from the Roche Lake west Campground, out to the south end of the lake, back along the marshy and rocky eastern shore, then across the lake back to the launch spot. No smoke, sunny conditions, little wind, and lots of waterfowl.
