It is not easy to find a backpacking route in the spring, but I have twice backpacked Okanagan Mountain Park in May.    I started in East Kelowna and hiked through Wild Horse Canyon, then down to Okanagan Lake to overnight in a marine park campsite.     This is Buchan Bay, one of 7 marine campsites on the lake.    There was no one around when I arrived and when I packed up to continue the backpack, all was quiet still.

There is a nice gravel beach there, some camping tables, and a firepit.   I returned to backpack the Park again and on that first day I camped farther south, at Commando Bay.   We camped on the second night at Baker Lake.
